Confirmed by the Club: Player snubs Liverpool transfer and join Man United despite agreed Personal terms with Liverpool few hours ago

The Red Devils have already brought in Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro this window but their interest hasn’t stopped there. After a disappointing Premier League campaign, United are looking at how they can improve their squad, and their plan involves exciting new signings, as well as selling players who are no longer viewed as part of the bigger picture.

Despite being heavily rumoured to be given the boot towards the end of the season, Erik ten Hag is looking ahead to another campaign and beyond at Old Trafford, after his side beat Manchester City to lift the FA Cup. The Dutch boss has even extended his contract with United and is now working with the club to strengthen his ranks and improve on their eighth-place Premier League finish.

The Reds have registered their interest in bringing Adrien Rabiot to England for the first time in his career. After being released by Juventus following the expiration of his contract, the midfielder is on the radar of several clubs in Europe, including Liverpool.

Arne Slot’s team have reportedly ‘sent a contract offer’ to Rabiot but the Frenchman has ‘knocked back’ their proposal, as he prefers the idea of joining United this summer. His representatives are working on getting the best possible deal for their client, with the likes of AC Milan and Inter both among others showing interest.

Reports last week claimed that United had overtaken Liverpool in the race to sign Rabiot and now, according to reports in Spain (relayed via TEAMtalk), the Merseyside outfit have been turned down. Rabiot has ‘rejected’ Liverpool in hopes that United will lodge an official offer for him instead.

This news comes despite the 29-year-old’s comments just a couple of years ago about Liverpool. Rabiot told Tuttosport in 2022 (via SPORTbible): “I followed Liverpool as a kid because I was a fan of Steven Gerrard. He made me dream, so I used to follow the Reds.”
