Man Utd face Rasmus Hojlund injury nightmare as star walks straight to dressing room

Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund sustained an injury in the 13th minute of its preseason friendly in Los Angeles against Arsenal. After scoring a goal in the 12th minute, Hojlund had another chance at a goal but after his chance was saved, the star immediately fell to the ground and sat on the pitch as medical personnel ran over.

After remaining on the pitch for an extended period while talking with medical personnel, Hojlund was able to stand on his own power and walked directly to the dressing room. Manager Erik Ten Hag immediately substituted Hannibal Mejbri to replace his injured star.

Hojlund’s injury comes as a direct contrast to how the Dane had been playing to start the friendly against the Gunners. Donning the No.9 shirt, Hojlund was a force, attacking Arsenal’s vaunted defense with ease.

His goal in the 12th-minute game against Arsenal defender Ayden Heaven. As Heaven and Hojlund were jostling for position, the latter deftly manuevered around his defender, and hit the ball just underneath goalkeeper Karl Hein’s outstretched leg for the first goal of the night.

It remains to be seen what Hojlund’s injury is. However, United fans can take solace in the fact that the star was able to walk off the pitch and straight into the back without too much issue, aside from the initial shock of the injury.

Hojlind was set to wear the No.9 shirt this season after it was vacated after Anthony Martial’s departure. There were also rumours new United signee Joshua Zirkzee was set to inherit the shirt, though it was decided Hojlund would take the number while Zirkzee will instead wear the No.11.
