Arsenal claimed pre-season bragging rights over Manchester United in Los Angeles before the two sides mixed it up from 12 yards to entertain their American audience. Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli earned Arsenal victory inside 90 minutes at California’s impressive SoFi Stadium.
However, the players remained on pitch for a hastily-arranged penalty shoot-out and it was United who won 4-3. Kai Havertz and Jakub Kiwior missed from the spot – so too United starlet Ethan Wheatley – but it was goalkeeper Andre Onana who took centre stage with some unnecessary antics.
