Last month, GMS exclusively revealed that the Red Devils would like to agree a loan deal with an obligation to buy the £45million-rated Uruguayan, but back then, PSG were under no pressure to offload the player.

As per the latest update, the situation has changed now that the French champions are close to sealing the signing of Joao Neves from Benfica.

According to L’Equipe, the Eagles are finalizing an agreement worth 70 million euros to sell the Portuguese midfielder to the Ligue 1 giants, whose demands for Ugarte have now collapsed.

The renowned media outlet claim that PSG are willing to send Ugarte to Man United on loan with a high purchase option for a permanent transfer.

We already know that the South American midfielder has reached an agreement with the Old Trafford outfit.

Manchester United Forever have exclusively updated that everything has been agreed verbally and Ugarte is very close to moving to the Red Devils:

“Deal for Manuel Ugarte is now very close to be agreed. Loan with obligation to buy is most likely option for both clubs. Everything agreed verbally. More to come in the next hours.”

The 23-year-old is a solid play breaker, he impressed at the Copa America for Uruguay, who won the bronze medal in the competition.

However, he was mainly a second choice defensive midfielder behind Vitinha last term at PSG and needs to leave to play regular first team football.

Ugarte could finally be the one to sort out the holding midfield conundrum at Man United once and for all.
