Manchester United might still have some work to do with the summer transfer window leaving less than a month to go.

August 16 is United’s Premier League opener against Fulham; the Community Shield takes place a few days earlier.

Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro have been swiftly brought to Old Trafford by Erik ten Hag’s team, but Yoro’s preseason injury may encourage them to return to the market.

There could also be further departures, with United having already offloaded a number of high earners.

Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial both left upon the expiry of their deals, while the likes of Donny van de Beek and Mason Greenwood have been sold.

Might we see another addition before the start of the league season? Here are Mirror Football’s latest transfer lines from around Old Trafford.

Simons to extend Leipzig stay
Xavi Simons has been linked with a Manchester United switch this summer, but the Dutch international looks poised to spend a second season with RB Leipzig. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Red Bull Arena, with Sky Deuschland indicating a second Bundesliga campaign is on the cards.

Simons rejoined parent club Paris Saint-Germain in 2023 after impressing at PSV Eindhoven, but was immediately sent out on loan. He bagged 10 goals in all competitions for Leipzig last term before playing a key part in the Netherlands’ run to the Euro 2024 semi-finals.

Bayern Munich were also linked with a summer swoop for the Amsterdam-born talent. However, at the time of writing, their Bundesliga rivals appear to have the upper hand
