FEE AGREED: Manchester United set to welcome another superstar signing tomorrow, after reaching verbal agreement on a 4yr deal – player to arrive with representative tomorrow

In the pre-season tour of USA, the Red Devils were beaten by Arsenal 2-1 a few days back, and were outclassed by Liverpool 3-0 yesterday.

United paid over the odds to beat European giants to the signing of Leny Yoro but the teenager is now going to spend a considerable time on the treatment table.

So, Man United must splash the cash to further reinforce the central defense and are consistently linked with Mathhijs de Ligt.

According to a story exclusively covered by GMS, De Ligt has verbally agreed a contract worth £200,000 a week with Man Utd.

However, the Old Trafford club are not yet willing to pay the asking fee of £45million plus bonuses to complete the signing from Bayern Munich.

As per The Telegraph, Man United have already agreed personal terms of a five year contract with De Ligt and have seen a bid for the Dutchman turned down by the Bavarians.

So, the 24-year-old star has secured a contract that will make him earn, £200,000 a week, £52million in the next five years.

The Netherlands international is already taking home wages worth £263,000 a week with the German Bundesliga side and has three years left on his contract.

Hence, it is surprising that De Ligt is willing to take a pay cut to join Manchester United.

Will he be able to play for compatriot, Erik ten Hag, in the 2024-25 campaign? Only time will tell.
