Man Utd ready to table bid for signing after drop in £85.7million valuation – Report

Man Utd have been quite active in the transfer market so far, going after a number of players but have managed to sign just two players – Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro. The former is yet to link up with the squad whilst the latter is out for three months with an injury.

There are other names that they are interested in. Bayern Munich defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui are on the Red Devils’ radar and the club is negotiating with the Bundesliga giants over a transfer for the duo.

Amidst all the frenzy, an unlikely target has emerged – Barcelona midfielder Pedri. Man Utd’s interest in Barcelona has largely been centered around Frenkie de Jong and it’s refreshing to see a different target for a change.

As per Spanish source, Nacional, the 21-year-old’s valuation of £85.7m has dropped and now, United are not going to go near that figure and are only ready to table a bid worth £51.4m to secure his signing.

The arrival of Olmo could threaten the starting role of Pedri in the Barca starting XI and Man Utd are willing to table 60 million euros, the same amount that Barca have agreed to lure Dani from RB Leipzig.

Olmo is one of the best playmakers in the world and he wouldn’t arrive at Barcelona to be a substitute. Pedri, the 2021 Golden Boy winner is unlikely to want to be on the bench either, when he returns from injury. This leaves the Spanish club with a decision to make.

Pedri has failed to live up to the heights that he showed in his first season at Barcelona but that does not come down to his football ability. The 21-year-old has been unable to stay fit for a prolonged period making him rather undependable.
