Not everything is incredibly rosy though. United are still lacking in certain areas and there has not been the dramatic shift in the first-team squad many had expected from Ineos.
With this in mind, MEN Sport has taken a look at how United’s summer transfer window could have looked in an alternative world.
£150m double swoop
United have been marginally hamstrung in the summer window due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules preventing them from making big purchases until money is recouped. Had those sales been completed, Ten Hag would have surely been tempted to go for a double swoop.
Joao Neves was heavily linked with United and at 19 the defensive midfielder is expected to be a star of the future. He joined PSG for £50m which could be a steal if he reaches his full potential.
Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen remains on the hunt for a new club with Napoli agreeing to sell him this summer. Chelsea appears to be his likely destination but had they had £100m to spare, the Reds could have pipped their Premier League rivals to the talented Nigerian.
Casemiro sold
The longer this window goes on, the less likely it appears Casemiro shall be sold by United. The Brazilian has not impressed during the pre-season tour of the United States and had the Reds been able to cash in on him they could have put that money towards their perfect replacement: Neves.
Instead, Casemiro looks set to stay at Old Trafford but whether he is a starter this coming season remains to be seen.
Branthwaite stubborness ends
In hindsight it looks like United spent too long trying to negotiate with Everton for Jarrad Branthwaite. The Toffees have been adamant that they would not sell for less than £70m and they were too stubborn on this figure to negotiate.
Meanwhile, the Reds were stubborn regarding their own valuation so it was never likely to work out. If Ratcliffe was to have his time again, it seems clear he would push for the pursuit of Branthwaite to end much earlier than it did.
Antony loan
There is still time for this to happen but it seems clear now that Antony shall remain at the club for another year at least. Considering the troubles of last season, a loan spell could have given him a fresh lease of life.
Ten Hag is unwilling to give up on the Brazilian but with Jadon Sancho now an option again and Amad showing plenty of promise, it seems as though there is little space for Antony at Old Trafford for the forthcoming campaign.
