Man Utd finally sign £100million star – Report

Whilst you can never put it past the Old Trafford club to make a bad decision going by their transfer success rate in recent years, this would be a new low even by their standards. Man Utd do not need another new striker.

One number nine that Man Utd have been linked with for quite some time now is Brighton & Hove Albion wonderkid Evan Ferguson. The Irish youngster has been linked with a move to the Red Devils since the last year.

Now, as per Daily Star, Dan Ashworth & co. are preparing a lowball offer for Seagulls striker Evan Ferguson for around £50m.

The Red Devils are concerned that Chelsea might pip them to the 19-year-old if they don’t act on their interest.

However, the bid that Man Utd are lining up is way short of Brighton’s £100m valuation of the player, as per Ben Jacobs. The Red Devils are offering just half of that amount and there is no way the Seagulls would entertain this offer.

Brighton are a well-run club and do not need to make sales to balance books. They almost always sell more than they buy and if they stick to their price tag for Evan Ferguson, that likely rules Man Utd out of the race.

Spending £100m for a position where we’ve invested big in the last couple of seasons and signed two strikers is not good transfer business.

Man Utd have many other areas of the field to focus on and let’s hope they move past this transfer target and look at more realistic options.
