According to Fabrizio Romano, today is the day the Red Devils plan to secure the signings of the Bayern Munich duo.
The well-known Italian journalist stated on the X:
“Monday will be the day for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, plan 100% confirmed.”
As per today’s version of The Daily Mail, Man Utd have agreed a deal worth £55.8m to sign De Ligt and Mazraoui.
The British news source have mentioned that the Bavarian duo are poised to travel to Manchester today in order to complete their transfers from the Bundesliga side.
However, whilst the signing of De Ligt is expected to be straightforward, Mazraoui’s signature is dependent on the exit of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The Moroccan international is waiting for the English defender’s sale to be finalized for him to reunite with Erik ten Hag.
The Mail report United are negotiating an exit settlement for Wan-Bissaka, who had a medical with West Ham scheduled yesterday, but it has been postponed to today.
Manchester United lost their last two games of the pre-season against Liverpool and Arsenal, on the other hand, they were beaten by Man City in the Community Shield contest at the weekend.
Therefore, Ten Hag needs a better squad for the Premier League opener against Fulham and will be hoping to have both Mazraoui and De Ligt available.
