I personally want Him to join Arsenal but if He chooses Man united, let it be known that this is the downfall of His career”,Theo Walcott says he wanted Arsenal to sign £43m player who’s about to join Man United Today as deal confirmed

Arsenal have established themselves as one of the best teams in Europe and are genuine title challengers under Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners have really strong foundations under Arteta and conceded the fewest goals in the Premier League last term.

That’s largely due to the personnel at the back with Gabriel and William Saliba perhaps the best partnership in the division.

Though, it wasn’t always like that and Theo Walcott has just revealed that he wanted Arsenal to sign Matthijs de Ligt who’s now about to sign for Manchester United in a £43m deal.

Theo Walcott wanted Matthijs de Ligt
Former Arsenal star Theo Walcott, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, revealed that he thought Matthijs de Ligt would’ve been a brilliant signing for Arsenal previously.

“When it was talked about him coming to the Premier League, he is the sort of player I thought oh Arsenal could do with someone like him, especially when they were going through the transition of centre-halves not being as strong,” Walcott said.

“But yeah I am looking forward to seeing what he is going to provide (at Manchester United).”

Arsenal need to focus on the attack
Arsenal signed Riccardo Calafiori earlier in the window so they’re now well-stocked at the back.

So, Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar should place their full focus on signing a striker who could operate as a focal point.

Viktor Gyokeres has been heavily linked to Arsenal as has Victor Osimhen but they’re not easy deals to do considering the financial means required.

So perhaps they should look at Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran as a cheaper alternative, who is thought to be available for around £40m
