Roy Keane has identified three Manchester Unitedplayers who concern him ahead of the new Premier League season.
Erik ten Hag’s third season at Old Trafford begins with a difficult home clash against Fulham in their opening game. The Dutchman will be in charge of a new look Red Devils side recently boosted by the arrivals of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui
United have spent an awful lot of money this season, signing the Bayern Munich duo, 18-year-old defensive prospect Leny Yoro and Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee. However, the latter is one of the players Keane is worried about.
While speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Keane said: “It’s always a worry for me about competing. I still worry about the spine of that Manchester United team. For all the nice play they have and good players, I still worry about the goalkeeper and strikers.
“On paper they have a decent squad, but the reality is when they’ve played games, and last year with their record in the league they were so open. If you’re on about competing, I worry about the spine of the team.”
