“I can’t compete with him… He’s a a very good player, I’m leaving for good”: Man United’s most reliable player has decided to join Serie A club as he reveals he can’t compete with Zirkzee for a starting position

Manchester United started their new campaign with a 1-0 victory over Fulham on Friday at Old Trafford.

Newcomers Joshua Zirkzee and Noussair Mazraoui both impressed with their performances, while Matthijs de Ligt also came on the pitch for the final 10 minutes of the game.

Latest reports from Alfredo Pedulla suggests the Scotland international has decided he wants to join Serie A outfit Napoli this summer.

The Blues’ chiefs have reportedly talked to McTominay’s representatives and negotiations are ongoing.

However, it remains to be seen whether they can reach an agreement with Manchester United.

The Red Devils are prepared to cash in on the player but it is clear they don’t want to sell him cheap this summer.

They turned down a £20 million bid from Fulham, while Turkish outfit Galatasaray also had an offer rejected by the Premier League giants. It is said that they are holding out for a £30m fee for the Scot.

Manager Erik ten Hag admitted during pre-season that he wants McTominay to stay at Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old was a key member of Ten Hag’s team last term, featuring in 43 appearances and scoring 10 goals.
