Mason Greenwood set to make controversial U-turn just months after Man United transfer exit

Former Manchester United attacker Mason Greenwood has begun a process to change his national allegiance to Jamaica, according to reports. Four years on for his one and only England cap, the youngster is pushing to play under Steve McLaren instead.

According to the Sun, the Jamaican Football Federation have approached the English FA with a request to transfer his international registration. It comes after ex-United coach McLaren was named as the new manager of the Reggae Boyz last month.

Greenwood himself is now said to be looking at making a change as McLaren is credited with having a big impact on the decision. McLaren coached Greenwood at Old Trafford before the academy graduate was suspended and subsequently sent on loan to Marseille.
