Man United predicted line-up vs. Liverpool: two big changes made with £55m man set to miss out

Luke Shaw (calf), Leny Yoro (foot) and Victor Lindelöf (toe) all remain out until, although Shaw and Lindelöf could be ready to play again after the international break. Dutch wing-back Tyrell Malacia, who missed the entirety of last season with an ACL injury, continues his rehabilitation and won’t be back until October at the earliest.

Ten Hag was cagey when asked by the press about the nature and extent of the injury which persuaded him to take Mount off at half-time at the Amex Stadium last Saturday, but the former Chelsea man has since revealed that he has a muscular problem which is likely to keep him out “for a few weeks”. He will miss the Liverpool game but could potentially return after next weekend’s international break.

It is highly unlikely that Manuel Ugarte will start even though he is expected to be announced as a United player and registered in time to play, at least assuming there are no last-minute hitches in the deal which will see him move to Manchester from Paris Saint-Germain. Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo will likely start behind Bruno Fernandes.

Forwards
Amad Diallo started last week’s match and scored the equalising goal despite the tragic loss of his mother just the day before the game, and may well keep his place for a third league game in a row ahead of Alejandro Garnacho.

With Rasmus Højlund (hamstring) still unavailable for at least three more weeks, it is likely that new arrival Joshua Zirkzee, who scored the first goal of the Premier League season after coming on for his debut against Fulham, will make his first start in the number nine role. The visitors, meanwhile, could hand a debut to Federico Chiesa.

Full predicted line-up vs. Liverpool
Onana; Dalot, Martínez, De Ligt, Mazraoui; Casemiro, Mainoo, Fernandes; Rashford, Diallo, Zirkzee.
