OFFICIAL NOW: Manchester United has announced the purchase of a £70 million superstar who struggled in the league under manager Pep Guardiola last season. The player is currently en route to London for a scheduled medical examination, which is scheduled for today.

Man Utd’s signings so far this summer have flown slightly under the radar which could actually turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

No one is talking about the combined transfer fees that the club has spent so far and as far as the performances keep coming, no one will.

As per MEN [image attached at the end], Manuel Ugarte will be Manchester United’s 15th permanent signing since Erik ten Hag took over as the manager. If there is one excuse that he cannot use this season, it is the fact that he wasn’t backed by the board.

One can’t remember the last time a Man Utd manager was given as much freedom in the transfer market as has been afforded to Ten Hag.

The Red Devils are now on the verge of wrapping up a £42.3m deal for the Uruguayan midfielder from PSG.

During his time, Ten Hag has slowly yet surely faced out all the players [23 to be precise] he doesn’t want at the club. If you were to think of Man Utd’s strongest first XI on paper, only Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Luke Shaw and maybe Diogo Dalot are investments from the past.

Ugarte, much like the other players Man Utd have signed this transfer window is an excellent addition and exactly what the squad needs. One can’t get a closer regen to Casemiro if they tried and the Brazilian veteran can impart some of his wisdom to his younger, South American counterpart.

Man Utd are primed to have an interesting season under Erik ten Hag. Of course, there is still some transfer interest going around like the arrival of Raheem Sterling and the departure of Jadon Sancho.

However, the Red Devils’ squad for the season is more or less set in stone otherwise and it’s time to start showing results on the pitch.
