Ineos asked uncomfortable Man United takeover question as Erik ten Hag pressure mounts

Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys has questioned whether Manchester United fans would have preferred for Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani to win the takeover race after the Reds’ start to the season.

United have endured a slow start to Erik ten Hag’sthird season at Old Trafford. Despite beating Fulham in the dying moments on the opening day, the Redssuffered back-to-back defeats ahead of the first international break of the campaign.

Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool has grown pressure on Ten Hag exponentially due to the manner of the result. United were thoroughly second best and it has led to questions as to how long the Dutchman will remain in charge of the club.



One of those to question Ten Hag is Keys who believes Ineos’ decision to hand the manager a new contract should lead to scrutiny of their ownership. Writing in his blog, the 67-year-old explained: “How many times have I said he [Ten Hag] lives in a parallel universe?
