BREAKING: Man United KEY player withdrawn from international duty after substaining a dangerous ankle injury

Few players had a worse time of it at Manchester United last season than Mason Mount.

Following his big-money arrival from Chelsea in July 2023, the midfielder’s debut season at the club was plagued by injury issues. In a campaign that had a stop-start theme to it, Mount made just 20 appearances.

Having understandably been left out of the England squad for the European Championship over the summer, Mount had the time and the opportunity to take stock of his first season at United and prepare himself for a clean slate come the start of pre-season.

He was a regular fixture during United’s pre-season programme, featuring in each of their five friendlies, making four starts. His encouraging performances meant he started the Community Shield clash with Manchester City at Wembley and then United’s opening two Premier League fixtures.

However, he was forced off at half-time in United’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion just over a week ago. A few days later, Mount posted on social media that he had suffered a muscle injury and that he will be unavailable for a ‘few games’.
