Man United’s legend Wayne Rooney score an unbelievable goal for Man United against Celtic in a legendary match

The game eventually finished 1-1, after Gary Hooper equalised for the visitors, and Celtic won 5-4 on penalties.

United’s XI also featured Premier League title winners Ronny Johnsen, Mikael Silvestre, Michael Carrick, Antonio Valencia and Dimitar Berbatov.

Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Denis Irwin were among the substitutes that played a part from the bench. Bryan Robson managed the side.

Wrexham continued their unbeaten start in League 1 with a 3-0 victory at home to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday, which leaves them at the top of the table.

Goals from Ollie Palmer, Elliot Lee and Jack Marriott helped the side to secure first place in the League One table, going clear of second and third place Stockport and Birmingham City.

The win marks another step towards achieving co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s dream of one day reaching the Premier League.

Wrexham have achieved two straight promotions from the National League to the third tier of English Football.

Paul Mullin came on halfway though the second half and had two separate chances to give Wrexham a further lead.
