Man United get huge double injury boost ahead of Crystal Palace fixture

According to a Monday article in The Manchester Evening News, the former Chelsea player may make his comeback from his injury sooner than expected.

The 25-year-old midfielder was substituted off during United’s 2-1 loss at Brighton & Hove Albion last month, despite having started all three of the team’s competitive games thus far. In a social media message, he stated that he anticipated missing “a few games.”

Meanwhile, Hojlund has not featured for United so far this season because of a hamstring injury. He was forced off in the club’s opening game of their pre-season tour of the United States in July, just minutes after handing the Reds the lead against Arsenal.

‘The first stage’ – Manchester United give ‘important’ Old Trafford update
United, at the time, said they anticipated the Danish international, who scored 16 goals last season, would be out for around six weeks, with last weekend’s 3-0 win over Southampton cited as a possible comeback date for the striker.

However, manager Erik ten Hag said the trip to St Mary’s had come too soon for the former Atalanta ace. He was also left out of the matchday squad for Tuesday night’s 7-0 win over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup.

In the striker’s absence, Bruno Fernandes and Joshua Zirkzee have deputised at the tip of United’s attack in the Premier League.

Ten Hag is scheduled to face the media at Carrington on Thursday afternoon and will almost certainly provide more clarity on Mount’s and Hojlund’s conditions, as well as assessing their chances of being involved this weekend
