Erik ten Hag confirms starter
The United squad has come through the previous two game without any new injury worries, a fact that no one at Carrington takes for granted anymore!
No new injuries have been further boosted by the return of some players, as Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount have also returned to training.
Hojlund is also expected to be a part of the squad vs Palace with Mount to follow soon after.
This is in addition to Luke Shaw stepping up his recovery and Tyrell Malacia appearing in team training for the first time in more than a year.
Amidst all the boosts, Ten Hag has confirmed that Manuel Ugarte, who started his first game for United vs Barnsley in the Carabao Cup, is ready for his first league start.
Speaking in his embargoed press conference section, Ten Hag said that Ugarte has had a very short number of training sessions with the team and will improve with more, but for now, he “has a start in him”.
He said: “He’s a player very short in [number of] sessions, now he has a start in him. In Southampton, he came in as a sub. Yeah, still, he’s in the process that he has come into the club. He has to come into the team and know what is the game, what are the principles, what are the rules, and know his team-mates. So, especially, know with his profile what he can contribute for his team.
“So yeah, we are in that process and that will take some time, but it will come, it will come in a natural way. And you can already see when he is fulfilling the process he will really be a very good player for us.”
