Amad Diallo scored both of Manchester United’s goals in the 2-0 win over PAOK which handed the Red Devils a vital three points in the Europa League after three consecutive draws in the competition.
His moments of brilliance papered over the cracks of what was ultimately a fairly average performance from United.
Ruud van Nistelrooy‘s side lacked cutting-edge up front, with Rasmus Hojlund struggling to make an impact.
Ruben Amorim is set to take charge of United on Monday and the incoming head coach will not have been amazed by the Danish striker.
Rasmus Hojlund struggled vs PAOK
Hojlund had an evening to forget against PAOK with the 21-year-old struggling to get involved in the match regardless of what he tried.
Since returning to fitness, Hojlund has been United’s first-choice striker even after the £36m arrival of Joshua Zirkzee in the summer.
Van Nistelrooy believes Hojlund can be world-class and the interim United boss kept him in the starting lineup against PAOK but his performance was a stark reminder that he is still a raw talent.
Hojlund was taken off in the 90th minute, and throughout his entire performance he only made 16 touches against PAOK – the lowest of any player who started the match for either side.
He completed zero dribbles, missed one big chance and only completed four passes – an underwhelming display.
