Ruben Amorim has jetted into England to begin life as Manchester United’s new head coach.
The 39-year-old arrived in the country on Monday as a new Old Trafford era dawns. Amorim will be at Carrington this week to bed in during the international break ahead of his first match in charge against Ipswich Town on Sunday, November 24. He inherits a side unbeaten in four matches under Ruud van Nistelrooy but still in the bottom half of the Premier League.
The new United chief has favoured a 3-4-3 formation for much of his managerial career and delivered some impressive results with that shape in Portugal. It is widely expected he will tweak United’s formation at Old Trafford, which may well benefit some players more than others.
