“We can have such amazing talent in the team and not using him, He’s going to be the most important player in my team… I will revive his career”: Man United’s new coach Ruben Amorim says Man United has an unused superstar, vows to start using him

One such player is Mason Mount who The Sun reports is likely to play a key role under Amorim.

Sources have told the publication that Amorim admires the former Chelsea star who has become somewhat of a forgotten star at United.

The new manager reportedly admires Mount’s versatility and thinks he can fit in well with the new system he plans to introduce.

Mount is not currently on international duty so can enjoy working more closely with the new boss.

Ten Hag brought Mount in from Chelsea intending to play him and Bruno Fernandes ahead of Casemiro.

While playing under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea, he played as one of two inverted wingers as the club deployed three centre-backs.

It was with this system that Chelsea won the Champions League in 2021, a system not too dissimilar to Amorim’s.

Mount is pushing for a place in the starting lineup against Ipswich, Amorim’s first game in charge.

Old Trafford will feel very different without the presence of Ruud van Nistelrooy who led the Reds for a four-game unbeaten streak while they awaited the arrival of Amorim.

The former Sporting Lisbon manager has brought his coaching staff with him as he touched down yesterday and arrived at Carrington under police escort.
