Manchester United defender Lisando Martinez has flown back to England early as he looks to make himself available for Ruben Amorim following his recent injury.
The 26-year old was injured in United‘s 3-0 win over Leicester City prior to the international break. He thentravelled to Argentina, where he was expected to face Peru and Paraguay in his nation’s World Cup qualifiers, but was ruled out after further evaluation
The initial niggle originates from a knock to his lower back that was sustained during the win over Leicester. The issue was possibly even exacerbated by Martinez’s delayed flights on route to international, with a firm decision taken upon his arrival in Argentina not to take anymore risks.
Amorim began life in Manchester last week and is now preparing to get to grips with his squad on the training pitch. The make up of his defence, already much discussed due to his penchant for playing three at the back, will now be of greater concern following Martinez’s injury.
