Ruben Amorim’s first six Manchester United fixtures compared with expected top four rivals

Ruben Amorim will be targeting a winning start to life as Manchester United head coach when his side travels to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon.

Appointed as Erik ten Hag’s successor earlier this month, the 39-year-old arrived in England just over a week ago and started work on the training ground on Monday, gearing his players up for the Premier League restart.

United, despite currently occupying 13th in the table, are only four points shy of the top four, meaning the goal of qualifying for the Champions League for next season is still very much alive.

With that said, MEN Sport has had a look at United’s next six league matches and compared them with those who are also expected to be in the mix for a top four spot come the end of the season.

Manchester United – 13th (15pts)

  • Ipswich Town (A) – November 24
  • Everton (H) – December 1
  • Arsenal (A) – December 4
  • Nottingham Forest (H) – December 7
  • Manchester City (A) – December 15
  • Bournemouth (H) – December 22
