“I am very happy that he will be my first signing for this club. I reaaly wanted him when I was in Sporting Lisbon. I am very sure he will make a big difference in this club”-FABRIZIO ROMANO ANNOUNCE that Man Utd ‘make contact’ with PSG for first January signing as Ruben Amorim stamps his mark with world class signing

Under new manager Ruben Amorim, United are expected to adopt a more conservative transfer strategy compared to the heavy spending seen during Erik ten Hag’s tenure, which totaled over £600 million in two-and-a-half years. Initial reports suggested that the club would likely remain quiet during the January transfer window unless an exceptional opportunity arose. However, it seems such an opportunity might now be taking shape.

United are said to have approached PSG about the possibility of a loan for Kolo Muani, who joined the French champions from Eintracht Frankfurt in September 2023 for £64.2 million, with an additional £12.2 million in potential add-ons. Despite his substantial transfer fee, the French international has struggled to make an impact in Ligue 1, managing just two goals in 12 appearances under PSG coach Luis Enrique.

According to *Le10sport*’s Alexis Bernard, Manchester United’s interest in Kolo Muani has been expressed through a loan request for the second half of the 2024/25 season. Due to financial restrictions, a permanent transfer is not currently feasible for the English club. The decision now lies with Kolo Muani, who must weigh staying at PSG to fight for his place or pursuing a fresh challenge under Amorim at Old Trafford.

In a recent interview with *Telefoot*, Kolo Muani addressed speculation about his future, emphasizing his commitment to securing a regular spot in PSG’s lineup. “No, I’ve never thought about leaving,” he stated when asked about a possible move. “You have to keep the mentality. It’s up to me to keep working so the coach trusts me. That’s been my story—I’ve always had to work hard. Things have never been easy for me. You can’t let up. If you do, it’s over.”

As the January transfer window approaches, talks between Manchester United, PSG, and Kolo Muani are expected to continue. Amorim appears eager to strengthen his attacking options and views the Frenchman as a player with untapped potential. For Kolo Muani, a loan move to Old Trafford could provide a fresh opportunity to regain the form that once made him one of Europe’s most promising forwards. However, convincing the player to leave PSG midway through the season could prove challenging.
