Last time out, United secured an incredible come-back win over local rivals Manchester City, with Amad Diallo‘s dazzling brilliance in the closing stages earning a 2-1 victory on Pep Guardiola’s own turf.
However, while the Premier League and Europa League remain the priorities for Amorim, his side must travel to North London in midweek to face an inconsistent Ange Postecoglou side.
Both clubs have shown frailties this season, although Tottenham recorded a fantastic 5-0 win over Southampton on the weekend in the build-up to this tie.
What is Manchester United’s latest injury news
The latest news coming out of United surrounds Noussair Mazraoui and Mason Mount, who both started the Manchester derby, with neither able to play 90 minutes.
Mount had to be withdrawn after just 13 minutes, with Amorim explaining after the game: “He stretched the leg in the one play and then he felt something. So let’s recover.
“Mount is really important for us, he’s the kind of player that I really like. He’s the kind of player our team needed because he’s talented, he works really hard, he’s really humble so we need him a lot.”
Meanwhile, Mazraoui was withdrawn after 78 minutes following a slip after City winger Jérémy Doku duped him, and Amorim was more vague surrounding the right-back, although he was spotted limping as he exited the club changing room. Early indications say it is not a serious issue
Regarding other injury concerns, Luke Shaw is the only player who will be out for the trip to London. Although Jonny Evans missed the derby game, he is fit. Although Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford were not included on the weekend, both are fit to play.
Toby Collyer also returned to training recently, providing a further boost for Amorim in midfield, although he has been linked with a loan move to Leicester City in January.
