Alejandro Garnacho breaks silence for the first time since being dropped by Ruben Amorim at Man United

Alejandro Garnacho has spoken for the first time since being dropped by Ruben Amorim for the Manchester derby.

On Sunday afternoon, Manchester United recorded a dramatic 2-1 win over Manchester City thanks to late goals by Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo.

However, the match was dominated by Ruben Amorim’s decision to omit Garnacho and Marcus Rashford from the matchday squad.

The announcement made by Juevntus and Italy legend Alessandro Del Piero at The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony held in Doha, Qatar.

The 20-year-old scored a stunning overhead kick after Diogo Dalot had crossed the ball slightly better him. United eventually ran away 3-0 winners, with Rashford and Anthony Martial also on the scoresheet.

Garnacho also became the second United player to pick up the Puskas Award, after Cristiano Ronaldo did so back in 2009.

Speaking after being named as the winner, the Argentine said: “Hi everyone, it’s Alejandro Garnacho here. I’m very proud to win this award, it is a proud moment for me and my family. Thank you to everyone who voted for me, especially the United fans.
