PSG respond to Marcus Rashford swap deal proposal after Manchester United bombshell

Paris Saint-Germain have cooled their interest in Marcus Rashford – just he’s ready to leave Manchester United.

Rashford, 27, has revealed that he’s keen on a ‘new challenge’ less than a month into new manager Ruben Amorim’s tenure. United boss Amorim left Rashford out of his squad to face Manchester City on Sunday, with the Red Devils coming out 2-1 winners thanks to a late turnaround.

The forward’s future has been thrust into the spotlight but not for the first time. PSG were heavily linked with a move for Rashford in 2022, although the French champions appear less interested – and certainly not in a swap deal.

Recently, there’ve been suggestions that United could hand Rashford over to PSG in exchange for out-of-favour forward Randal Kolo Muani, who was tipped for a move to Old Trafford last year. Kolo Muani had just enjoyed a brilliant season with German side Eintracht Frankfurt and represented France at the World Cup.

But the Daily Mail report that claims of a swap deal including Rashford and Kolo Muani are wide of the mark. The 26-year-old is under contract with PSG until 2028, having been signed for an initial €75million (£64.2m).

His future in Paris looks bleak, though, as he last started a match on October 6 and was omitted from their squad entirely against Lyon over the weekend.

On Tuesday, having been asked about Kolo Muani’s continued absence, PSG manager Luis Enrique said: “I could speak about it, but I wont because my decisions say it all, even if, as I have said, all of my decisions can be changed.”
