Graeme Souness believes that Marcus Rashford has ‘failed’ at holding down a place in a high-pressure team like Manchester United.
Rashford is closer to leaving the Red Devils than he has ever been before, and the 27-year-old himself has opened the door to a January exit. United boss Ruben Amorim has left Rashford out of his last two matchday squads despite the forward being fit to play
And Souness is unimpressed by what he feels is Rashford throwing the towel in. “He says he is ready for a new challenge and has proven he was not up for the first one thrown down to him of becoming a proper player at Manchester United,” the Liverpool legend wrote for The Daily Mail.
“For me it’s like he has put his hands up in the air and is saying he can’t deal with the expectation levels on his shoulders.”
