United currently sit outside of the top 10 in the league standings ahead of Sunday’s home clash against Bournemouth. Ruben Amorim’s side are several points off the top four as things stand, and the Portuguese coach will undoubtedly be eager to put his own stamp on the team following his arrival at the beginning of November.
With that being said, the we have taken a look at some of the latest United transfer headlines and gossip from the last 24 hours…
Two United stars placed on transfer list
Amorim has made two United stars available for transfers in January, if recent reports are anything to go by. According journalist to Fabrizio Romano, speaking to GiveMeSport, Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof are deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and could be on the move next month, although there is currently nothing concrete.
Lindelof has been at United since his move from Benfica in 2017 and he has amassed over 260 appearances for the club so far. His most recent outing was their 4-3 Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday evening, but that was just his ninth appearance of the current campaign.
Eriksen, on the other hand, joined from Premier League rivals Brentford in 2022 after spells at Inter Milan, Spurs and Ajax. Both players are out of contract in the summer and are yet to pen fresh terms, meaning they will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside of England in the new year.
MEN Sport says: With both players set to be out of contract in a little over six months, now could be the perfect time to cash in if the interest is there. Whether the pair move on in January or the summer will certainly depend on potential incomings, as well as other outgoings, as Amorim will be cautious not to leave the squad short for a crucial second half of the season.
