Why Ruben Amorim doesn’t conduct ‘traditional’ post-match team talks after a game

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim refrains from giving a traditional team talk in the dressing room following games – and there’s a very good reason why.

The 39-year-old was visibly frustrated throughout Thursday night’s clash against Wolves as his underperforming side suffered defeat for the fourth time in five Premier Leaguematches.

To sum up their woes, United have lost five games in December for the first time since 1933 – a quite staggering statistic that sums up their woeful form of late.

After the full-time whistle, Amorim said nothing to his players in the dressing room at Molineux but this is standard procedure for the Portuguese coach, who prefers to let the emotion of matchday fade before making any snap decisions.

Amorim’s wealth of experience as a player have shaped the way he coaches and, according to ESPN, It’s one of the reasons he doesn’t hold traditional post-match team talks. Instead, players are invited to hold their own debrief if they wish.
