Rasmus Hojlund appeared to hit out at a Manchester United fan in a leaked Instagram direct message.
The Denmark international has been in and out of the side under new boss Ruben Amorim and has scored seven goals in 21 games this season – the majority of which have come in the Europa League.
A £72 million signing from Atalanta in 2023, Hojlund has been criticised for his inconsistency in front of goal and one fan slammed the 21-year-old on Instagram following the 2-0 defeat to Wolves on Boxing Day.
In a brutal rant, the supporter said Hojlund’s best attribute is “whining his backside on defenders” and claimed he “can’t anticipate or position yourself into those goalscoring areas”.
To finish up, the account said that the former Copenhagen man has a “trampoline touch and lack of hold up play”.
But it appears as though Hojlund did not take too well to the comment and went out of his way to message the fan. On X, @utd8iiii wrote, “my mate posted about Rasmus and got sent this ffs”.
A screenshot of the alleged message from Hojlund said: “Hi I find your post a bit disturbing mate. U are right to have to your opinion but stop takling [sic] about things u know nothing about. That is all.”
