Marcus Rashford sends nine-word message as Man Utd outcast prepares for January window

Marcus Rashford shared a telling social media post just hours before the January transfer window opened.

The Manchester United star looks set to leave Old Trafford over the coming weeks. He was dropped by boss Ruben Amorim for the Manchester derby earlier this month.

He then admitted that he was open to a new challenge. The 27-year-old was left out for the last three Premier League games ahead of a shock recall against Newcastle with a place on the bench.

And now Rashford has spoken out with the January transfer window rapidly approaching. Sharing an image of him smiling in front of a framed United shirt, he wrote: “Happy New Years. May 2025 bring you all happiness,” alongside a red heart emoji

Rashford is likely to be among the standout names linked with a move throughout the January transfer window. Boss Amorim was asked why he decided to bring the forward back against Newcastle.

He explained: “Selection. We have a lot of players outside. Every week I chose my players and this time he is here.

And while Rashford was in the squad, he did not play a single minute. Opening up on that decision, Amorim added: “I think about the team. You think a lot about Marcus. I think about the team. When I’m there I’m not making a point. I just want to win the game.

“And you can feel it – I’m talking about the idea and the fight for relegation. Do I want to make a point during a game? No, I just want to win the game.”
