Man Utd under Ruben Amorim are looking to build a project that can be painstakingly difficult.
There is so many years of bad work to undo before the Portuguese tactician can even start looking to build what he wants.
At this point, it does feel increasingly that Amorim is trying to do an impossible task to move an immovable object.
His first few months at the club have been extremely difficult but there always seems to be light at the end of the tunnel.
If there is one thing we know from Amorim’s time at Sporting CP, it is that he isn’t afraid to give youngsters a run out.
Thus, don’t put it past the Portuguese tactician from signing talented youngsters who can create an impact at Man Utd. For now, it may seem as the best solution because the star names are not performing.
As per The Daily Mail, one player that Man Utd are close to signing is young left-back Diego Leon from Cerro Porteno. The player’s move to England is pending a medical which is scheduled to take place some time next week
As reported by Fabrizio Romano last month, the entire deal inclusive of initial fee, addons and player performace related bonuses is around £6.8m.
The Red Devils have identified potential in the player and don’t mind spending the money to bring him in.
Man Utd might make room for Diego Leon by letting the young, talented Harry Amass leave. The youngster impressed during pre-season and the report has mentioned that Ruud van Nistelrooy is interested in reuniting with him at Leicester City.
It remains to be seen if Leon has any prominence from a first-team perspective in the months to come.
One would assume that is unlikely at 17, especially considering adaptation to England might be difficult but let’s wait and see how it plays out.
