Arne Slot praises ‘very, very good’ Manchester United player who caused Liverpool big problems

With Ruben Amorim in the worst form of his career and United on a four-game losing streak, there was not much optimism around the Liverpool clash.

However, United players answered their critics in emphatic fashion by drawing 2-2 with Liverpool. They played with confidence and arrogance at Anfield, going toe-to-toe with the Premier League leaders.

Lisandro Martinez became the first United player to score at Anfield since 2018 when he fired the Red Devils into the lead, and Amad Diallo added to his impressive catalogue of goals by equalising late on.

But Liverpool manager Arne Slot believes two other United players caused his side big problems.

Arne Slot praises Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes

Despite struggling in recent weeks, Diogo Dalot kept his spot at left wing-back against Liverpool.

He started brightly by taking on Trent Alexander-Arnold in the opening few minutes and he continued to trouble the England international all afternoon.

As did his United and Portugal teammate Bruno Fernandes, who started on the left side of United’s attack and often drifted to link up with Dalot out wide.

United fans raved about Fernandes during the match, with supporters hailing his “immense” performance.

After the full-time whistle, even Slot couldn’t help but praise the United duo.
