4-2-3-1: Three big stars return as Hojlund sacrificed in major United shake-up – opinion

Following their injuries, Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay, and Bruno Fernandes are expected to rejoin the Manchester United team for tomorrow’s Premier League match against Arsenal.

Mason Mount, who took Fernandes’ place in Monday’s disastrous matchup with Crystal Palace, will miss the match due to yet another injury.

So, Fernandes returning to the team right away for Mount seems inevitable.

McTominay and Rashford have a more debatable spot in the starting lineup.

The only other option in the twin midfield pivot position is Sofyan Amrabat, who has been playing alongside Christian Eriksen. When the Moroccan has played, he hasn’t appeared very good.

The other midfield option is to shift Casemiro back and look for another center back. On Monday at Selhurst Park, he appeared to be absolutely out of his league, which is why former United captain Roy Keane feels he shouldn’t be allowed to stay in that position.

However, because none of the injured defenders are nearing a comeback just yet, there doesn’t seem to be much of an option save retaining the Brazilian there—unless McTominay steps up to fill the role, as he has occasionally done for Scotland.

However, we believe McTominay will take Eriksen’s place in midfield and Casemiro will remain at center defense. Perhaps manager Erik ten Hag can only hope that practice makes perfect in Casemiro’s situation.

With Andre Onana in goal, Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as full-backs, and Jonny Evans at left center back, the remainder of the defense should not change.

Ten Hag stated that he asked Lisandro Martinez to play when he returned to training, but he was informed it was too soon. Tyrell Malacia, Willy Kambwala, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Raphael Varane, and Luke Shaw are also still not available.

Shaw has experienced a minor setback in his healing process.

Alejandro Garnacho is the only player who, to be honest, seems unbeatable up front, therefore Rashford might be added back into the starting lineup right away. Rasmus Hojlund and Antony both performed poorly against Palace, but the Brazilian is more inclined to cover ground and support his defense than Rashford, so the manager might decide to start him against the high-flying Gunners.

Ten Hag might substitute Rashford for the worn-out-looking Hojlund up front, moving Antony to the right wing.

Although the manager never seems to favor Amad, he is still an alternative. Although he is back in training, Anthony Martial is not expected to play, possibly only as a substitute.

With all that in mind, here is our predicted XI for tomorrow’s game:
