Report – Player seal Manchester United move in £20million deal

Manchester United have set their sights on a few midfielders this summer. They need a replacement for Casemiro, the Brazilian superstar who has looked a pale shadow of his former self in the past 12 months. We covered a few days ago that the Red Devils were close to signing Manuel Ugarte from PSG.

However, it looks like the defensive midfield isn’t the only position that Man Utd have set their sights on this summer. Man Utd have also set their sights on a few central midfielders who can provide flexibility to Erik ten Hag.

As per HITC, French midfielder Manu Kone has been offered to a host of clubs in England including Man Utd, Liverpool and Tottenham. The 23-year-old has made it clear that he wants a new challenge and wants to move on from Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Although predominantly a central midfielder, Kone can also play as a #6 or even #10 when required. He can also comfortably play in a double pivot alongside a more defensive profile. He has a contract that expires in 2026.

The two-cap France U-23 midfielder has a huge future in the game. His ball-carrying ability helps him get through pressure with ease. He also has a keen eye for a pass and has the perfect attributes for a box-to-box midfielder.

The only issue that Man Utd need to be worried about is that Kone will compete for the same position as wonderkid Kobbie Mainoo. The academy graduate’s game time might be marginalized with the arrival of the Frenchman.

Signing Kone would be a coup for Man Utd, especially at the £20m asking price. However, he must not be our priority and we can focus on him once we wrap up a deal for our main targets.
