Micah Richards and Rio Ferdinand in disagreement over Matthijs de Ligt transfer concerns

Manchester United are on the verge of signing Matthijs de Ligt in a move that seems to be splitting opinion.

The Red Devils have agreed a £42.9million deal for the Bayern Munich defender, who played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax, and are expected to confirm the move before their Premier League opener against Fulhamat Old Trafford on Friday


Defensive reinforcements have been a priority this summer for United, who have already splashed £58m on centre back Leny Yoro. But after the Frenchman was ruled out for three months with an ill-timed foot injury, the club ramped up their efforts to sign De Ligt, 25, who has been on their radar for a couple of years
