Manchester United double signings frustrated due to the delay at airport amid United’s medical as the Reds prepare for unveiling today

Since then, they have also identified Mazraoui as a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is due to sign for West Ham United. Super-agent Rafaela Pimenta represents both players.

They are now closing in on completing moves to United and were spotted arriving at Munich’s international airport earlier today. Mazraoui came in first, with De Ligt following and telling Sky Germany reporters awaiting them outside: “Noussair is waiting for me!”

The Dutch defender seemingly was delayed arriving at the airport, which meant their flight to Manchester took off roughly half an hour late. Medicals at United’s training complex are scheduled for later today, and the club expects to conclude both deals early this week.

They are preparing to announce the double signing, with club sources saying the separate deals are progressing while acknowledging that visas will be needed for the two players. The deals are set to coincide with Wan-Bissaka departing, with United prepared to top-up the player’s wages at West Ham until next summer, potentially to the tune of £5.6m.

The west London club could end up paying as much as £20m for the right-back. Wan-Bissaka signed for £50m from Crystal Palace five years ago.
