Man Utd ready to reach £21.4m asking fee to secure signing – Journalist

Man Utd continue to look for a new midfielder in the market. Manuel Ugarte continues to insist on a move to Old Trafford but the Red Devils are unable to reach an agreement with PSG over a fee which is holding this deal apart.

The English club is clever enough not to put all their eggs into one basket as they look to sign a new midfielder regardless of whether Ugarte comes. Focusing elsewhere should also help PSG reconsider their asking price for a player they don’t want.

As per transfer pundit Luca Cilli speaking to Sky Italia (via Football Italia), Man Utd are leading the race to sign AS Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana and AC Milan are way behind. Here is what he had to say about the situation.

“Talks with Manchester United are ongoing, and the Red Devils are ready to make an important offer in line with Monaco’s requests. Milan, right now, are way, way behind. Unless there are unexpected surprises, Milan will have to look for alternatives for the midfield.”

The French club want around £21.4m to sell Fofana and the Red Devils are willing to pay close to this amount to sign the 25-year-old.

We even covered a story revealing that the Monaco midfielder preferred a move to Man Utd.
