Liverpool ready to agree £63m initial fee to break player’s agreement to join Man United – Report

However, failure to meet the asking price set by the Toffees meant the deal has not progressed and now the Anfield side are prepared to meet the demands.

As per an exclusive story covered by The Sun, Liverpool want to steal the signing of Jarrad Branthwaite from the hands of Man Utd.

The Reds have not signed a player directly from the Blue side of Merseyside in over two decades, so, it will be a huge shock to see the Everton sell one of their best players to the arch rivals.

As per the British news source, Liverpool are ready to agree an initial fee of £63m and pay £7m in add-ons to seal the signing of Branthwaite in a deal worth £70m.

The youngster would be willing to move to Anfield knowing that he can take home a huge salary of around £180,000 a week.

If Arne Slot’s team can pull this deal off, then it will be massive signing for them as the 22-year-old is one of the most promising English center backs around.

Man Utd could have met the asking price if they wanted to but perhaps, they firmly believed that Leny Yoro is better and ended up breaking the bank to sign him from Lille.

On the other hand, Ten Hag opted to reunite with his former Ajax captain, Matthijs de Ligt, and in all fairness, now there is no room for another center back at Old Trafford.
