The Red Devils have been interested in the Samba play breaker since last year and now they look to finally strike a deal to secure his signing.
The 23-year-old is widely regarded as one of the biggest talents coming out of Brazil in recent times. Liverpool were linked with signing Andre for a long time but despite a lot of talks, the signing never materialized.
A classic #6, Andre was almost on his way to Fulham last month before the move broke down. The Cottagers had reached an agreement for around £25m to sign the 23-year-old who would have replaced Joao Palhinha at the club.
Andre has the defensive acumen to play as the sole #6 in a 4-3-3 and the versatility to play as a part of a dual #6 in a 4-2-3-1. He might not be as physical as Casemiro considering his stature but manages to make up for that with excellent anticipation.
Man Utd are closing in on a deal to sign Manuel Ugarte who is a more refined and Europe-ready version of Andre Trindade. Despite that transfer being in advanced stages, one wonders why they are linked with a transfer for the Brazilian.
If Man Utd sign Andre, it would taste even sweeter considering the club managed to get one over their arch-rivals Liverpool. However, signing Ugarte and the 23-year-old doesn’t make sense and the Uruguayan looks more realistic at the moment. Let’s see how these Andre talks pan out in the coming days.
