Multiple reports in the media have indicated that Man Utd are closing in to hire the services of Manuel Ugarte from PSG.
A few days back, we covered stories from Italy indicating the Ligue 1 midfielder is set to move to Old Trafford.
More recently, as per Record, Ugarte is moving ‘closer and closer’ to the exit door in Paris and Man Utd should come forward with a proposal to sign him.
According to iNews, after landing Zirkzee and Yoro, the Uruguayan defensive midfielder has been identified as the top target by the Red Devils.
Citing sources in France, the media outlet have mentioned that Man Utd have already tabled a bid to sign Ugarte but the move did not meet PSG’s valuation.
Ugarte has a long term contract until 2028 and takes home a salary of around £5.2million a year.
As per iNews, the French champions are looking for a fee north of £50million, which is what they paid to Sporting CP last summer to lure the 23-year-old play breaker.
L’Equipe (via SW) also claim the deal is close but the Parisians want a fee of around 70 million euros. The figure should be considered too high for their second choice DM.
However, no one can blame PSG for asking such a high amount, for an experienced midfielder with a long term contract, from Man Utd, as they have just paid 70 million euros for an inexperienced defender like Yoro, who had a year left on his deal with Lille.
