Roma scout explains why he left stadium after watching Amad Diallo in action for just five minutes

The president of Amad’s first club has revealed the reason a scout who was watching the Ivorian left after just the five minutes of a game he was observing.

Amad, 22, has gone from strength to strength since Ruben Amorim took charge of Manchester United in November.

His most recent showing against Manchester City last Sunday impressed onlookers as he was involved in both United goals – winning a late penalty and scoring an inventive second goal to hand the Red Devils a 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium.

The memories are all pleasant,” Enzo Guerri told Tutto Mercato in 2021 [translated from Italian to English].

“[Amad] Diallo started playing in our youth sector, from 2014 to 2015, from 12 to 13 years old, and already at that time, you could see that he had something more than the others.”

He then went on to reveal what occurred that made a scout who was spectating the winger turn around and walk away from a game that Amad was involved in.

“I remember a very funny sketch with a Romascout,” he added.
