I love Manchester United but coming back to the team is a Big NO for me unless we came to agreement that they will sell this particular player before my arrival”, Jadon Sancho reveals the only Condition that could make Him return to Old Trafford by January to help Amorim salvage the current situation

Jadon Sancho could return to Manchester United next season despite Chelsea’s obligation to buy the winger next summer – but only if the Blues fail to finish in the Premier League’s top 14.

Sancho’s loan move to Chelsea was finally confirmed on Saturday evening in a lengthy delay after the transfer deadline passed, with the England international given the No 19 shirt at Stamford Bridge after finally sealing a move away from Old Trafford.

Chelsea are obligated to pay around £20m-£25million for the player next season but an unusual clause has been inserted into the deal with United that could potentially see the Blues avoid having to purchase him.

However, according to the Telegraph, that clause would only come into effect if Chelsea had a disaster season and finish below 14th position in the Premier League table.

Chelsea have struggled in recent years after making the transition from owner Roman Abramovich to new chief Todd Boehly, with the American unable to replicate the same success of the Russian after seeing inconsistent displays from the side under bosses Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino, with the club finishing 12th in 2022-23 and sixth last season.

The Blues are now hoping to turn a new page under their latest boss Enzo Maresca after a summer spend of around £220m on 11 signings – including the loan of Sancho – with other big name additions including Pedro Neto for £51m, Joao Felix for £44m and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for £30m.

Speaking out on becoming the latest arrival at the Bridge, Sancho said he was hoping to follow in the footsteps of some Chelsea legends who he admired growing up.

“It’s been a bit crazy,” he told the club’s official website. “Obviously, it was the last day of the transfer window so it’s expected to be a bit crazy, but I’m really happy it’s all finally done.

“Chelsea is iconic. My idols growing up were Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard and now I have the opportunity to play for this club like them. It’s a great feeling.”

He added that it was Maresca who drew him to the club, having known him during his time as a youth player at Manchester City and said he was excited to experience his attractive style of play.
