‘Not happening’: Summer exit now off for Manchester United winger claims Fabrizio Romano

There have been plenty of curveballs in Manchester United’s Deadline Day action.

Manchester United have grabbed the headlines with the back-and-forth surrounding Jadon Sancho in these final hours of the summer transfer window. The latest on the Englishman’s situation is that Chelsea have snatched the reins and have taken the lead in the race to sign him before tonight’s deadline.

Paul Hirst has reported that the Blues have muscled fellow interested club Juventus out with their offer — which is a similar loan proposal to the Italians. Chelsea’s terms are believed to suit United’s situation better right now though, and Sancho is reportedly open to the idea of the switch.Speculation continues to rise as the hours tick down, but there’s another exit-linked winger at Old Trafford to focus on before business closes for the year. However, this is a move that now looks unlikely to go ahead. Real Betis have reportedly been eyeing up a last-gasp double swoop to sign both Christian Eriksen and Antony on loan this window. This is a deal that United are reportedly ‘not opposed’ to signing off on, but a follow-up report has shut down the link between the La Liga side and Antony.
