A shock club has been named as ‘monitoring’ Marcus Rashford amid the growing uncertainty over his Manchester United future and it could provide an awkward reunion if it comes to pass.
Rashford has been at United since he was aged seven and came through the club’s famed academy system to the first team, being handed his debut by Louis van Gaal back in 2016.
Since then, the 27-year-old has gone on to score 138 goals in 426 appearances across all competitions, with his best season to date in front of goal coming in the 2022/23 campaign when he netted 30 times.
That campaign led to him signing a new contract at United worth a reported £325,000 a week and runs until mid-2028.
Rashford has claimed two FA Cups, two League Cups and the Europa League during his time at United, and scored the first goal of Ruben Amorim‘s era in charge of the Old Trafford club.
However, the last time Rashford was seen on the pitch for United was in the 2-1 away victory against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League and a question mark surrounds his future.
But he has not been involved in United’s last four matchday squads after being dropped by Amorim, and it appears likely as time goes on that Rashford’s time at Old Trafford could be coming to an end, and possibly as soon as January, with the player himself admitting he is ready for a ‘new challenge’.
