“They rather sack me…I won’t stop starting him, never”: Erik ten Hag says he’ll never drop the £67m star who the fans sees as the only problem stopping the club’s progress- BOARD also want the player out

United travel south to the Saints, themselves pointless after three games, with Joshua Zirkzee poised to play from the start with Amad also joining the frontline. The Manchester outfit lacked much bite in attack in their last outing with Ten Hag ready to alter his forward options.

Casemiro is poised to drop out of the first XI following an error-strewn display in the loss to Liverpool. He was deemed to be at fault for two of the three goals and Ugarte, as expected, will come straight in following his deadline day move from PSG.

The Dutchman said: “It doesn’t impact me. I know, in the process, where we are, what we have to do, where we are going. I have said before, we are still in a transition period. We have to integrate a lot of young players also in the team.”

He also added: “We will see where we are in May next year. It’s very early in the season and it’s about winning trophies, being as high as possible, of course, in the league. Do everything to win every game and then we will see in May where we are and then judge.”
